Stop Waiting for Permission—Make the Space Yourself

Professional woman in laptop in an open plan office

Let me say this plainly:

No one else is going to carve out time for you. No one is going to clear your calendar, protect your energy, or magically create the perfect conditions for your goals.

If you’re waiting for your boss, partner, kids, friends, or the universe to “make space” for you - it’s not going to happen. That is your job.

Why?

Because the world will take as much as you’re willing to give. If you don’t set the boundaries, the default setting is “access granted.”

You might think: But they’ll notice I’m tired, stretched thin, or overwhelmed. They won’t. Not because they don’t care - but because people are focused on their own lives.

It’s not their responsibility to manage your time, energy, or needs. It’s yours.

Making Space Takes Boldness

Creating space in your life isn’t about waiting for the stars to align. It’s about:

  1. Saying no when you don’t have capacity - without the guilt monologue.

  2. Blocking time for what matters before anyone else claims it (and protecting it when someone tries to push for it anyway).

  3. Removing what drains you - people, commitments, habits, clutter, etc.

Defending your priorities the same way you’d defend someone you love - with your heart and soul.

The Truth About “Making Room”

Making space for yourself will feel uncomfortable at first especially if you’ve been taught that your value comes from being available, agreeable, and accommodating.

People might resist. They might even call you selfish. But there is nothing selfish about protecting the resources that allow you to live fully.

Every “no” is a “yes” to something that matters more.

This Is the Work We Do in The Empowered Voice™

Inside my 12-week group coaching program, we work on making space for the life you want, not someday, but now.

We focus on:

  • Boundaries that stick.

  • Assertive communication that doesn’t leave you overexplaining.

  • The confidence to stop waiting for permission and start taking up space - physically, verbally, and emotionally.

By the end, you won’t just have more time, you’ll have a completely different relationship with it.

Action Step: Claim Your Space Today

  • Look at your calendar for the next two weeks.

  • Block off two chunks of time that are non-negotiable for you.

  • Treat them like appointments you can’t cancel.

  • Protect them like your life depends on it because it does. It’s the actual point of life.

Your space won’t create itself. Your life won’t either.

If you’re ready to stop being at the mercy of other people’s priorities and start living in alignment with your own, let’s make it happen together.

📞 Book your clarity call here and let’s get you into The Empowered Voice™ so you can start claiming the space you’ve been waiting for.

With you,

Dr. Zoe Rapoport
